The Block Head item is a Minecraft reference The Iron Saint suit is an Iron Man reference When Zinyak gives you the choice to walk through the red door or the blue door it's a reference to the pill scene from The Matrix. CID is similar to Claptrap from Borderlands The Speed Rift activity is somewhat similar to the Shadow boss fight in Sonic Generations
